August 1st, 2020

I started the month off enjoying an evening of food, friends and fun. A great evening at the Pickford & Black Restaurant on the Halifax waterfront. A great harbour view and witnessed a low flying plane, many boats including a large three mast sail boat under a full moon.

Different times ... wearing a mask in and out of restaurants. Didn't stop Linda, Sheila and I from experiencing a nice evening on the harbor. :D

A lovely trip to Economy for a few days. This is the view from the two-bedroom cottage on the waterfront directly across the Minas Basin from Burntcoat-Walton.

A lovely visit to Dutchman's Cheese farm. The store has a huge variety of cheese and other products. A nice walk through the woods on a path visiting a variety of animals including Emu's, Scottish Highland cattle to name a couple.

ree

After visiting the farm, we checked into the cottage and then headed out for a hike. We drove a few kilometres to a parking lot and took a short hike to Economy Waterfalls. Beautiful waterfalls.

An incredible visit to Cape D'Or! The scenery was magnificent on a clear sky and a sunny warm day. It was great having a nice breeze off the water.

After parking, had a walk down the gated road towards the lighthouse. The cliffs and lighting were a perfect combination.

The Cape D'Or Lighthouse on the point.

A short drive along the coast took us to Cape Chignecto. A 5km loop hike first took us into the woods towards the last beach entrance. The panoramic view from the first part of the hike was amazing.

ree

We made our way down the steps to the beach and began our 2.5km hike back to the vehicle along the beach.

ree

A very interesting landscape along the coast.

Completely different rock on the beach.

A view of Trade Centre Office Tower from Prince George Rooftop restaurant.

The food was okay, but the ambience was perfect. Certainly a great place to go for a glass of wine or any beverage.

Spent the day in Wolfville and met my Iceland travel buddies for a cold one. We met at the Church ... great food ... great beer ... fantastic company.

ree

Love their sign. LOL

ree

Stopped at Kaisers Sub in Lower Sackville for another great sub. A selfie with the Kaiser Sub owner, my friend Rick, under the Covid restrictions. Still can't beat the taste of these subs.

ree

Mackerel fishing with Kelsey and Matt. Brought back a lot of great memories of Kelsey fishing for a few minutes and then into the snacks. LOL A great time with great memories. Although Matt caught the most ... I did catch the biggest fish. HaHaHa

ree

A great cast from Kelsey!

ree

Matt checking the line.

A lovely lunch at The Rope Loft, Chester.
