The road less travelled ...
After researching the area and deciding to take do bike tour, I signed up with one group based on the fact that I informed them I would enjoy doing the biking, but also want to stop to take some photo’s. It was indicated this would not be an issue. I arrived the next morning ready for the experience.
They had different trails based on your experience of biking. They had 4 different categories from beginner / family biking to level 4 extreme biking. I signed up for level 3 as I had not been on a bike for a couple of years, but was not a beginner nor had little children. The guides loaded the bikes on the top of the trucks and we road in the back. There were four trucks filled with tourists wanting this experience.
After reaching the location near the top of the mountain, the guides unloaded the bikes. Here they checked over to make certain everyone was set. I liked the fact that they explained each level again to give people an opportunity to change their mind. After receiving more detail about the trails, some of the bikers in level 3 opted out for level 1 or 2. I observed who was remaining in the group and stayed with my principles, against my better judgement LOL. What worked out well is one gentleman was struggling which allowed me to stop and take photos and then catch up to the group. The guides, I must say, were very well organized as they had one in front, and two at the end. This way if a problem occurred with someone or their bike, one guide can stay with that person.
