After leaving Canada for a long flight we landed in Bangkok early the next morning at the Suvarnabhumi Airport. We grabbed our luggage as was indicated on the ticket and stepped outside the front of the airport to seek the shuttle to Don Mueang Airport. We approached the van company and asked to be put on the list for the next bus to Don Mueang for our flight to Krabi. They asked us for our flight time and to our surprise they did not have a shuttle for another 2 hours and we would absolutely miss our flight. They suggested we take a taxi, but that we probably won’t make it because the other airport was quite far away. We quickly jumped into the taxi and we asked the driver to take us the quickest way to the airport. This taxi driver was being passed by many vehicles and when we arrived at the other airport he insisted I give him an extra tip for getting there “quickly”. I was quick to respond that he was not that fast and politely added that we had to try and catch our flight. We ran through the airport, got through the gate and ran down to the gate. We arrived at the gate when they were doing the last call to hop on the bus that drives you out to the plane. We were exhausted, but so pleased that we made it. Not the way I had expected our travels to begin. LOL
We made it! Being well rested and ready to start or first day ... up at 5:30am to watch the sun rise ... uhm, I was up, not my partner [she got up at 10am]. Ha! Ha! Ha!
