Charlie's Lake Loop Hike

November 16, 2019

A cool day but so nice for a 6km hike.

After a short walk through the woods,  I came out at one end of Charlie's lake.  This rock ledge was flat and a great place to relax by the lake.

The path to the lake is well worn and I like that it is not groomed.

Mid - Movember ...

A creek running into the other end of Charlie's Lake.

No snow around,  but obviously cold enough for icycles.

On the back part of the trail the path was not well used.   There was a 2km stretch that the path was not easy to follow.  There were some tape markers but not consistent.

There were some sections where I had to bushwhack as I could not find the trail.  The pic below shows the marked portion of this path ... you can see how difficult it is to see and this was the best marked section of the trail.

This old abandoned cabin was named Charlie's Palace.

The view across the lake where I was earlier.

The sun close to setting ... so early in the day.

A natural path through the woods.

A perfect end to a great hike.
