Oh What a Hike!

After dropping my truck off to get serviced yesterday,  I thought I would go for a short hike.   20km later I am laying down on my couch, but it was worth it. LOL

I walked up Horseshoe Lake Drive and got onto Chain of Lakes Trail.  Of course I had to stop a few times along the way for a few fall photos.

Although on the same path,  the next segment of this trail is called Blue Jay Way.

Beechville Lakeside Timberlea (BLT) Trail is the next section of this path, which is part of the Blue Jay Way

I reached Six Mile Falls.  Not much water coming over them this time of year.

A little fall foliage from Governor Brook.

I walked up to Clearwater Drive as I somehow missed the first path entrance.  Wasn't sure this was a good idea to go on a path I cannot find.  LOL

After turning off and going a short distance up the trail, I was enjoying this hike of the unknown- untamed path.   It was quite a beautiful trail and walk into the wilderness.

After about 2km, I came onto a power line road and walked about 2-3km before going back into the woods onto Whopper MTB Trail.  There are no signs to show you the entrance to this trail ... you have to keep your attention add it would be easy to miss.

I came to a crosspath and curiosity made me take a little 1km detour.   This path is unnamed but takes you into one of the entry points of the Blue Mountain- Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness Reserve.

I was not to be disappointed.

I stopped here and had a snack. A nice cool breeze blowing off the water. A perfect back to nature moment.

According to my map, it did not show that the path behind Kent Building Supplies is connected to the one I am on.   To my surprise it was.  Incredible scenery along this section if my hike.

At one point the oath breaks into two.   The section of the path I took disappeared for a short distance but then connects to the path I wanted to be in.

This was the final view of the lake before I headed out.   I did do a little bushwhacking as I somehow got off the main path so took a "shortcut" through the woods to get back on it.   It wasn't really that much if a shortcut.  LOL

Legs a little sore but what a beautiful hike.
