July 7th, 2019 After a great rest from our return trip from Vancouver, Peter treated Lina and I to a fabulous meal at this new winery.
This rosé was absolutely a perfect flavor and a perfect match with our food.
The food was extremely delicious.
Mango and a type of berry sherbert to cleanse the palate.
After returning back to the house, Peter and I took a drive up to Vernon.
We stopped in this little building and it was quite interesting what you can observe and learn about bees. They had quite a variety of different things related to bees and honey that you could buy. Things arranged from clothes, soap, wine, variety flavors of honey and honey induced health pills to name a few.
In behind the honey business was a family farm. There was a children petting zoo, rows of cherry trees and a large playground to name a few.
This will certainly be a great place to take children or grandchildren.

This morning Peter, Lina and I took a drive to Kelowna. Our first stop was an old Immaculate Conception Mission. Father Pandosy and Father Richard were sent in 1859 to the Okanagan Valley to establish a mission.
Peter and Lina checking out the old farm machinery.
The mission site buildings.
This is inside the Joseph Christien house. Built in 1890 and the upstairs was used as a schoolhouse until the actual school was built.
The statue of Father Pandosy who was actually a giant in his day. He was 6'3" tall!
Lower floor was used as a chapel and upper floor was used for schoolhouse and living quarters for Father Pandosy, Father Richard and Brother Surel.
Our next stop was at a Japanese Garden (Kasugai Gardens) in the centre of Kelowna. This was a beautiful spot ... very serene.
A short distance from here we stopped for lunch and then walked to our next stop ... Kelowna natural museum.
They did a remarkable job with their displays.
A lot of information boards and display windows.
This man was well respected in the area.

This morning after a hardy breakfast we went to Kangaroo Creekfarm. I was surprised how large this was and how active it was. Certainly a lot to see and do for all ages but especially for children.
This creature, known as Patagonian Cavies, is the 4th largest rat in the world.
A sentimental touch. Peter as a young lad had a parrot on his shoulder in Florida. Now he has one on his shoulders a few years later in Lake Country.
This furry creature is known as Capybara. It is the largest rat in the world!
Lina and Peter in the petting zoo ... making friends with this goat.
This goat certainly liked Lina.
An albino Wallaby!
Enjoying the shade.
A wallaby in the park.
We then made our way to the Gray Monk, a winery. We had a very good lunch here.
Gorgeous view from here.
Peter and Lina heading down to the restaurant.
View from upper landing.
A door with a write up about how this winery got is name.
Full and time to go home.
Peter and Lina, thank you so much for the royal treatment. I truly had a fantastic time, a lot of laughs and the creation of many new and wonderful memories. Cheers to you two! Love you guys!
And so ends my journey into BC. Tomorrow morning I head back to Alberta. I have my GPS ready so I don't end up in the Yukon or at the very least will only be an 8.5 hour drive instead of 12 hours. Hahaha
Time to get some needed rest.
