Sevilla - Semana Santa

Date of Events : April 20th, 2019

I arrived at the bus depot by 7:45am and passed by a morning market.   Shame I didn't have much time to go through it.

Took a short walk along the boardwalk before catching the bus.

Aerial shot of where I had walked.

Bus is ready to go.

It was nice to have the front seat and double nice that no one was sitting next to me for the five hour bus ride.

This bridge crosses over from Portugal to Spain.

Our last stop before Sevilla.

Entering Sevilla.

There were chairs everywhere but only those who paid had seats.  The chairs went for blocks.

The procession was starting,  it was quite interesting.

It started around 5pm and the last one ended after 11 pm.  This wad the last full day for this ... tomorrow morning only one procession in the morning.

Many of the people in the procession had no shoes.

From my hotel room you can see part of the crowd,  but the crowd actually continues like this for blocks.

More chairs!  I have never seen so many folding chairs like this in any public event.   I wonder where they store all of them?

Evening procession all lit up.

Doesn't end here ... another procession at 11pm and decided to watch it from my hotel room.   Certainly a different perspective.  What a day!
