Last Day in Lagos

Date of Events: April 19th, 2019

Got up at 630am to watch the sunrise from the top of the hotel.   It was a great start to the day.

The sun reflecting on all the white buildings.

This square has a great deal of history.  The Church in the left corner is Church of St.  Mary.   This 15th century church still has the original doorway which survived the great earthquake of 1755.

The square with the water fountains, it's named after Prince Henry the Navigator.  He also is represented as the statue in the Centre of the square.

This square also has some traffic history,  it was once the centre of Europe's slave trade.

I went back to Praia Dona Ana beach to go to that secluded beach.   After climbing down the cone and going through the small opening,  I went to the far side of the beach and there was a beautiful arch.   To add to it a large 2 mast schooner was anchored in a perfect spot.

There was a lot of conglomerate seashells along this coastline.

To my surprise I could walk from one beach to the other from this beach all the way back into Lagos. There were more arches that you cannot see unless you are on the beach.

After getting one foot wet from the tide coming in I got a pic of a manmade and a natural arch.

It was starting to rain.   I goes I was the only one that brought a rain jacket.   Everyone ran for shelter.

Back at the square.

Rain stopped and people came out of the woodwork.

This stadium is growing in with weeds.

I speed at Ol' Bastards for a bite to eat.

Super Bock!   A very good Portuguese beer.

I had to try their fish and chips.  They were very good.

Joao Lopes, what a great guy.   Great sense of humor and a fantastic personality.   Makes you feel like home.
