Covered a lot of the city today using Metro. First stop was Park Guell. I got off the Metro and found a side path that had outside escalators that take you most of the way up the hill. That made it easier. Lol
It seems wherever you go you see Sagrada Familia on the horizon.
I had a 9am entry into the Guell Museum. I thought this gave me access to all at Park Guell, not so. The main part was sold out and booked ahead by two days. Wow!
This is Gaudi's home.
Not only did Gaudi design buildings but he also designed unique furniture for his clients.
This aqueduct work was impressive.
Those are balconies on top with benches.
What a beautiful gate entrance to a home in the park.
The hill on the background was where I was yesterday.
This is the section of Park Guell that you need to book in advance.
Instruments left on a bench waiting for customers.
My next stop, an unexpected additional stop ... Casa Vicens. I saw photos of this place so thought I would check it out.
Another additional unexpected stop was Porta Miralies ... a very unique gate I must say.
I walked passed this and had to stop to take a pic ... the world's biggest vending machine. Hahaha
My next stop was Font Magica and Palau Nacional de Montjuïc.
After taking a load off my feet I decided to visit the last place on my list ... Park Ciutadella. My lovely Barcelona friends recommended that I visit here because of a mammoth statue where many stop to take a photo.
Personally I was very impressed with the entrance monument and the lantern design.
Then I saw this statue ... wow. The clouds were perfect.
I walked to a pond and saw a huge monument in the background and had to go check it out.
Stopped quickly at the mammoth, but the huge monument I saw had caught my attention.
All I can say is wow! Beautiful!
After a rain burst I left the shelter and took the Metro close to my accommodation at a restaurant nearby where I ate the other day. I ordered a different kind of pizza ... first time with greens on it ... it was very good.
