Date Of Event: April 6th, 2019
Left the hotel in Madrid at 8:30 am, walked to the Metro Nuevos Ministerios to catch the subway to the airport. Line 8 takes you directly to all Terminals, mine being Terminal 4 ... the last stop.
Went to Vueling ticket counter, dropped off luggage and went through customs with ease. After getting through I had to sit for an hour to wait for the posting of my gate.
Only an hour flight and landed at the airport a little rough. Got my luggage and then a short distance to the Metro.
When I got into the Metro you had to buy either a return train pass or a 2-3-4-5 day pass (Whichever you choose). At this location I couldn't find where to buy individual train tickets. It wad not wise to buy the train pass for 4 days.
It was an easy trip and I arrived at the hotel in 1.5 hours taking my time and only one subway change.
After getting settled in I went out for dinner and a little walk around the neighborhood to see what was here. I walked along Passeig de Gracia ... what incredible architecture.
I walked by a couple very interesting building designs.
My friends from Barcelona had recommended this restaurant ... good quality food and reasonable price.
I walked down to Catalonia Square and this turned out to be the center Plaza. To see everything within walking distance this is a great starting point.
I walked up a back alley and was admiring the architect ...
I came across this Church that was through a narrow entrance. When I went around a corner it opened into a square and was filled with over 50 homeless people. I walked into the Church to find it completely filled with hundreds of homeless people. The Church was partially blocked off inside.
A long day ... need some rest.
