We left Madrid after 9am by bus on our way to La Alberca. We drove an hour and a half and stopped in Avila. In Avila there was a fort with part of the town built inside. It looked quite interesting.
We then drove two more hours until we reached La Alberca. Today was an informal day, as we got to familiarize ourselves with the place and with each other.
We were given our room keys and had some time to freshen up. We had lunch, which was phenomenal, and information sessions.
During siesta time I decided to explore the grounds and take a few photos of the wonderful property. The first couple pictures show the Villa I was staying in.
This was my accommodations for the week.
They had many villas surrounding the center hall.
This is the main building where we would congregate, eat meals, have meetings and do many fun activities.
The writing on the Centre wall says, 'Abbey of the Templars'.
As I walked up the hill towards the hotel, there was an outside pool that is only opened for the summertime.
Such a beautiful view from this landing.
The hotel (Hotel SPA Abadía de los templarios) at the top of the hill was very creatively designed.
Whenever I visit a new location, I have to explore the area first. This is such a lovely area.
