Hello Everyone!
Today I have flown into Madrid and landed at 9:30 am (5:30 am in Nova Scotia). It would have been wonderful if it was a direct flight from Halifax, but instead I flew backwards to Toronto and then to Madrid. Flight time could have been cut in half of I had a direct flight. But that is what happens when you find the cheapest flights ... you lose some time. LOL
They have a subway (Metro) line 8 to Nuevos Ministerios which is only 3 blocks from where I am staying.
This was a very cheap and very efficient way to get to the area and apartment. From the time I landed, went through customs, walked through airport to subway and walked to front of hotel was under 2 hours ... and this was taking my time. Very efficient.
I got into my apartment 2 hours early. They don't have a typical front desk and you have to contact them ahead of time to let them know what time you are coming.
After getting settled in I thought I would take a little nap ... woke up 4 hours later. Hahaha
As I normally do I take a walk around the vicinity to get a feel for the area. Nice area and perfect for catching metro to anywhere in the city.
Some interesting stores ...
A lot of green spaces and a large mall in vicinity.
Tomorrow is a big day ... covering a large area walking to make up for today.
