Today we packed up and made our way to Bowron Lake National Park which was approximately 28km from Barkerville. After getting there and getting the campsite set up, we headed up a backroad to see if there was any great location to find moose.
After traveling a chunk of the day on the back road the only thing we saw was a black bear.
Very skittish, so did not get very good pics. Went to Antler Creek and gathered some firewood. Here we saw some signs of moose in the area.
Returned to the campsite and strategized for the following day. A slow, but easy going day. Need one of those now and then. LOL

Today we packed up and headed back to the campgrounds near Barkerville, at least here we can get on internet. LOL
We got set up and then covered all the backroads up to Robbers Roost. We stopped at an Interest Point and it was quite interesting about what had happened in this specific spot. Read the sign below ... loved it!
We then found an old dilapidated building that was worthy of a photo stop.
We visited the old Stanley Ghost Town Cemetery.
We then took a few pics of the only remaining remnants of a dilapidated building. This building used to be a general store in the area, but very hard to tell that from the remaining ruins.
I took a few pics of an old homestead that was on the Stanley Loop Road which made for a neat photo.
While there, took a few shots of some plants. For example Paint Brush, which was unusual to see this time of year.
We stopped at a few other spots around the area and then called it an early day.

A very relaxing and easy-going day as we just drove a short distance and took some landscape photos. One stop we made was along the highway of an swamp that had quite a nice color to it.
We stopped by the Jack of Clubs Lake and took some photo's of the beaver dam in the calm water.
Just a little further we stopped at a rest area and took photos of a Stellars Blue Jay.
On our way back, we had spotted these old tracks on the side of the hill that we first thought was an old railway track that was abandoned. This time we stopped and walked up to them to see that they were tracks from an old abandoned gold mining operation.
We stopped and took a few photo's of some other interesting spots along our route ... no specific direction. LOL
Driving around the area we came across a very picturesque pond with a reflection. This was a very beautiful area.
Tomorrow we head into Quesnel to meet with Uncle Gordon and family … it will be party time!
