This morning, a misty rain and a little on the cool side, but got in a couple nice hikes. The first hike we walked up to Osprey Falls Lookout and had a beautiful view of the falls that was quite amazing.
I was hoping that when we made our second hike we would be able to get close to those falls, but we eventually found out we could not.
We continued our hike and on a different path went to Sticta Falls which was quite impressive. These falls were narrow but a lot of water coming down them for this time of year.
Just across a footbridge was what they call Dragon’s Tongue, which was a chunk of volcanic rock that had given away forming what looks like a dragons mouth with the rock spewing down the slope looking like a tongue. Just use your imagination. LOL
We walked back to the campsite, had lunch and then made our way along the river to part of Osprey Falls. It was very beautiful set of falls and you can see the other part of Osprey Falls in the background … the same one that we took a photo of from the Lookout, but cannot walk to.
We took about a 7km round trip hike on the Lakeshore Trail. Talk about a lot of different types of toadstools and mushrooms, quite amazing actually. So many different colors, shapes, quantity …. This is the most different kind of fungi in a short hike I have ever witnessed. A very interesting hike to be sure.
