It is hard to believe that I have spent two months in a tent – cold night last night, but still a great sleep. I have truly enjoyed my camping run … only ate in a restaurant 3 different times. Other than that I had cooked my meals most days. That is how I lost weight. LOL
On the east end of Fort Fraser, I found the pull off and the signage that talked about the Last Spike had been celebrated near here. I was expecting more that an information sign, but it was still interesting.
I had great intentions of stopping in Fort Saint James, but it was evacuated because of a huge fire in the region.
Early morning I arrived at my Uncle’s home and stayed here until August 31st. Uncle Gordon and I had a grand time playing cribbage and having some great conversations.
My Uncle shared some humorous stories about his younger days with his siblings. I was so pleased to have had an opportunity to look through his albums and get an idea of what my mothers side of the family was like in the days of old.
August 31st - September 09th, 2018
I left August 31st and made my way to the Lake Lands to visit my brother and sister-in-law. It was wonderful to see my nephew and his family. I had a very good visit and we had a lot of laughs. Also, had a lot of fun helping my brother and his lovely wife move into their new home. I finally had an opportunity to help them out where they had helped me out so many times in the past. It was the first move they had made in over forty years ... a lot of stuff has accumulated. LOL
Fueled and ready for the next adventure ...
