Today was pretty much uneventful, stopped at a few pull-offs that had some interesting information. Not too many vehicles traveling on this road … awesome!!!

At the Tintina Trench Information pull-off there was just one other vehicle there. An elderly gentleman was there with a dog and I thought at first that he was with the other vehicle. I then noticed that he had a small backpack on. The other vehicle took off and I thought to myself, what is this man and dog doing in the middle of nowhere. There was no house or anything around for miles … interesting.

As I approached Dawson City, I was wondering what all the piles of gravel were for and then realized that these were all the Tailing Piles from the digging of the gold … wow!!! You cannot imagine how much misplaced earth there was! Wow!

I got into Dawson City and it lives up to its reputation as maintaining the olden charm. I love it! I drove through and decided I would take the ferry across the river to check out the Yukon River Provincial Campgrounds. It was nice and I got a spot right by the river. This is great for only $12.00 a night. Good thing I am travelling by myself as there are no showers at the provincial camgrounds. LOL

It was starting to rain so I just bunkered down for the rest of the day and evening. In between the rain showers I made supper. A very restful day, indeed
