Cerro San Cristobal - Beautiful Panorama of Santiago

February17

Charlie, my brother, arriving today at about 2pm. I went down to buy some groceries to prepare a little something for lunch as I know how long a day he would have flying from Canada. His flight was delayed by half an hour and then he had to wait for the shuttle to fill up some before heading to the apartment. I was so hungry that I couldn’t wait so ate my lunch around 2pm. I too, had a long day yesterday flying all day and then having my suitcase missing. So, I can justify eating now. LOL

Charlie finally arrived and we had a relaxing afternoon.

Picked up some more groceries, went for a 5+km hike and then had to get back to the apartment as the gentlemen that looks after the place would be there at 7:30pm.

This morning after Charlie had a good sleep, we went for a hike up Cerro San Cristobal.

We hiked up the switchbacks and reached the summit. There were certainly a lot of people up there with bikes and running. We walked up to the church and monument … such a beautiful panoramic view of Santiago from up here. It was certainly a worthwhile hike.

We took the cable car down to the bottom and then planned what we would do next.

There was a waterfall nearby so we walked part way back up the hill. This was not a natural waterfall, but was still very well done.

Worked our way down and then headed back to the apartment. On the way we stopped to take a few photo's and was surprised at all the cyclists, this must have been a special day.

They had tents set up at different locations and were offering free cups of a juice ... very tasty.

Once returned to apartment, I had received some great news … they have my suitcase at the airport and waiting to make arrangements to deliver to me! Yay!
