What an incredible evening! Today was a cold day and just hung around hotel until early afternoon. Walked downtown and was very cold. Went to Tootsie's for a premusic session and a beer. Music was not country, but I did enjoy the guatarist ... he started a song and was signaling for my beer. I thought, what?! You are not going to drink my beer LOL. What he did was use the bottle to do part of his guitar playing ... a lot of fun to watch.
Nancy and I left and headed a half block up the street to Ryman the Grand Ole Opry. We had purchased the last two balcony seats, such a great location even though I believe there is not a bad seat in the house.
The performances were fantastic! We were certainly not disappointed in any of the talent that was on stage tonight. It was like a step back in time and wide variety of music was played.
After the show Nancy and I attended the post tour of Grand Ole Opry. We started in a side room and watched a 10 minute video. This video was excellent and explained a great deal of history of the Ryman. After the video we toured some of the change rooms and then stepped on the Opry stage. It was quite a treat to see a different perspective.
After performing we walked to the front of the stage and took a couple shots. Our guide informed us that we were not suppose to be there. She was kind enough to allow us to take the pictures.
This was an incredible experience ... what Nashville is all about!
