Nancy and I walked down to the center of Nashville [2nd Avenue North and Broadway]. Our walk is about 15 minutes one way and we certainly feel safe in this area. Our hotel is located at 99 Spring Street, a busy road on one side and only 5 minute walk to the stadium. Today was cool, but no wind ... a great walk.
Walking passed George Jones restaurant, Nancy definitely wants to stop here during our visit ... to eat and to see the museum.
I revisiting my old friend in front of Wildhorse Saloon. We plan on coming back for a full evening here ... such a great place. We took a quick peek inside and there has been a great deal of renovations ... lost some of that old country charm.
We stopped at the Ryman building to pick up tickets for the night performance at the Ole Opry House. We also bought post show tickets to have a tour backstage.
Across the street from Country Music Hall of Fame was a Walk of Fame. Nancy had to stop for this photo op.
Well, what do we have here, but a walk of fame with Elvis ... a must photo op for me LOL.
Nancy and I did the tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. We spent over half of the day here and was certainly worth the price to visit. From old stars ... to recent stars ... to new stars! Some of the outfits they wore during their shows, some of their musical equipment and even some of their awards. I was impressed to see cars from Elvis and Smokey Bandit on display. This was a very nice day and start to our week visit in Nashville!
They had a game that you could do in the last section of the museum. Nancy and I both completed and were Certified Country! LOL We both did solo taping singing 'Wagon Wheel' .. what a blast! I have placed my taping on FaceBook.
After our visit, we walked over to Broadway. Looking up the street I saw a sign I recognized from my last visit! We had walked up this street twice [yesterday and today] during the day and I did not see it. Things certainly look different at night time and this is where we stopped to have a bite to eat. An excellent pork sandwich and beef sandwich with their special bbq sauce ... very tasty, indeed! The place is exactly the same as when I last visited.
The street is well lit and every bar we walked by had a band playing. Nancy stopped and ran into the main door to sing along with the band LOL.
