We left Albany at 7:30am after fueling up the car. We drove west on Interstate 88 in New York State until we arrived in Sidney where we turned on Highway 8 south. From this route we connected on highway 17 west until we connected on Interstate 81 south towards Scranton. We stopped at 1:00pm east of Chambersburg to fuel the car and quick bathroom break. We continued on our drive all the way to Roanoke with a half hour delay just west of Roanoke on Highway 40 due to accident. We arrived at Red Roof Inn located at Roanoke, Troutville, Virginia at 6pm. After getting set up in our room we drove next door to Cracker Barrel to eat. This is the first time we ate here, excellent food and great price. No snow found in this area.
