Nancy and I left Halifax 5:25am ... passed Truro at 11:25am ... passed Moncton 8:00am. Our first stop was in Fredericton 9:25am for fuel. Arrived at Houlton border at 10:25am.
Driving from Moncton, New Brunswick to Bangor, Maine had a lot of fresh snow on the trees, very beautiful ... very happy that the roads were clear all the way.
A deer jumped over the bank in front of us ... stopped and then sauntered across. Two seconds of us driving earlier or the deer jumping out two seconds later and the outcome would not have been pleasant. A happy ending for all. :)
We stopped for gas in Bangor, Maine 11:25am and continued to Portland, Maine. At 1:25pm we stopped at Cabela's sporting goods store for a break. We bought a new tent that was on sale and left at approximately 2pm.
We arrived at our hotel in Albany, New York at 7:25pm, which was actually 8:25pm Atlantic Time [1 hour time change when arrived in US]
We had travelled for 15 hours including gas and other breaks. Today we had driven through Nova Scotia, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New York State until our arrival at Albany, New York.
We stayed at Travelodge - certainly not what we were expecting. Room was not as clean as could have been, but the breakfast was very good.
