Cape Breton

Cape Breton Island, a variety of things to see and do in every season. From fishing, swimming in the summer to skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. Personally, I found fall to be my favorite time to visit Cape Breton. There is a magical feeling of music in the air and the smell of fall is so fresh when visiting in October. The color of the trees around the island is amazing and can only be fully appreciated in seeing firsthand.
If one has limited time, it is possible to do a day tour from Halifax. It is worth taking a day trip as this is not a place to be missed. I would suggest staying at least one night in Cape Breton.
Myself, I left Halifax early in the morning and took my time driving, stopping now and again to take some pictures. Arriving in Baddeck early evening for a stroll along the waterfront before having a late evening meal.
The next morning was the start for the drive around the trail. Driving on the trail clockwise or counterwise is only a personal preference, it mainly depends on the time of day and the lighting. This year I went counter clockwise and next year I will travel the opposite direction. The day was a relaxing drive with a few peaceful walks on various trails. Fantastic scenery with such colorful autumn leaves.
